Thinner Wife, Happier Life?

The link above goes to the full story, which is about the research of Experimental Psychology Ph.D. candidate Andrea Meltzer from the University of Tennessee, my undergraduate alma mater. Meltzer claims that “(t)he great take-home message from our study is that women of any size can be happy in their relationships with the right partner. It’s relative weight that matters, not absolute weight. It’s not that they have to be small,” but that doesn’t seem to be the emphasis in most of the media coverage, which seems to focus on how wives can lose weight to salvage the relationship or can carefully approach the subject of weight with their spouses.
